The School of Arts & Enterprise Middle School Theatre Arts program is designed to provide our Middle Schooler's with an Introduction and continued exposure to world of theatre and prepare them to be a Theatre Arts Major at The School of Arts and Enterprise High School.
All 6th Graders spend a 9 week portion of their year long Survey of The Arts course learning about the basics of Theatre Arts. 7th Graders can select our Introduction to Theatre Course where they will develop an understanding of theatre as well as an elementary approach to performance skills, behind the scenes theatrical work, character development methods and improvisation. 8th Grade students at The SAE Middle School will be offered Theatre Foundations a course designed to teach students how to more deeply appreciate, and understand the functions and techniques of theatre.
Middle School students who complete these courses will have a solid understanding of theatre, performance skills, behind the scenes theatrical work, character development methods and improvisation in preparation for more complex work associated with The School of Arts & Enterprise High School Department of Theatre Arts Major.
Middle School Theatre Arts students will be offered various formal and informal performances opportunities throughout the school year.
The School of Arts Department of Theatre Arts recognizes the need to provide opportunities for students who have had prior theatrical instruction along students who have not had prior training but demonstrate strong natural abilities and a deep dedication to grow as an artist.
